Podcast Producer

Job Description

Common Sense Society (CSS) seeks a motivated and connected Podcast Producer to manage the planned CSS podcast programming. This position will work closely with other members of the communications team to oversee the production, including research and scheduling, and direct and edit the podcast. The Podcast Producer will manage relationships with vendors and guests and be responsible for keeping project budgets. The Podcast Producer is a member of the communications team and reports to the Chief Communications Officer. The position is based in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Core Responsibilities

• Pitching, booking, and interviewing guests for the show
• Prep research for hosts
• Managing equipment, vendors, and budgets for the podcast
• Maintaining relationships with media and guests
• Recording, editing, and publishing each episode of the podcast
• Monitoring and reporting the success, growth, and reach through metrics reports

Requirements and Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to CSS’ mission
• Four-year college degree in a relevant field
• 3-5 years of experience in content strategy and production
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• An existing network of relationships in media is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Up to 20% travel for off-site recording sessions
