About

The late Sir Roger Scruton (1944-2020) and CSS president and C.E.O. Marion Smith speaking at 2016 CSS event "Scruton: Why Are We Unwilling to Defend Western Civilization?" held at the Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeum in Budapest, Hungary.

Cultivating Citizen Competency Through Education and Citizen Engagement

Common Sense Society was founded by European and American students in 2009 as a debating forum. Their aim was to explore the ideas that have shaped our history and will determine our future.

Today, Common Sense Society is an international nonprofit educational network with the mission to cultivate citizen competency across the United States and Europe. Our education and civic engagement initiatives work to inspire, equip, and connect parents, educators, civic leaders, and elected officials. To support this work, we leverage media platforms and CSS academic fellows to spread our message. This focus and amplification cycle fuels high student impact and contributes to a more reasonable public discourse.

Locations

We have national branches throughout the U.S. and Europe. More information coming soon!
