Free Speech and the Future of Discovery at Wofford

Event Overview

It is no secret that free speech on college campuses is under attack. Students and professors alike experience pressure to either avoid or hyperfocus on controversial topics with limited room for honest and rigorous debate. What does this tell us about the future of Western civilization? Is the university no longer a marketplace of ideas, questions, argument, and discovery? If not, where are the alternative forums today? Where do we go from here?

Join bestselling author, “Uncanceled History” podcast host, and associate editor of The Spectator, Douglas Murray, in the Old Main building’s Leonard Auditorium to discuss this and more with Wofford students on February 22, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. – 5:30 P.M.

This event is open to the community. Please reach out to Joel Bowers at joel@commonsensesociety.org if you have any questions.
