Event Overview

Join Oxford University’s Pusey House and Common Sense Society–United Kingdom for a special colloquium on February 23 with Dr. Edward A. David. We will analyze and debate notions of corporate personhood, ranging from commercial corporations and partnerships, to the family, the nation, and the Church. The conversation will begin at 4:00 P.M. in the Resurrection Chapel of Pusey House, St. Giles, Oxford. 

This event is open to the community as part of a series of collegiate colloquia at Oxford, organized by the Centre for Theology, Law, and Culture at Pusey House and in conjunction with fellows of said colleges. Kindly RSVP to Stephen Ridley at stephen@commonsensesociety.org.

Dr. Edward A. David

Dr. Edward A. David is the McDonald Postdoctoral Fellow in Christian Ethics and Public Life at the University of Oxford. His work features qualitative, philosophical, and theological methods. On a John Templeton Foundation project, he researches character and culture in U.K. financial services firms (2020-2022). He has served as an academic consultant, working on entrepreneurship programs, at Saïd Business School (2014-present). His book, A Christian Approach to Corporate Religious Liberty, was included in the 2020 Law and Religion bibliography of the Association of American Law Schools, and his scholarly papers have been published in top-tier journals, including Studies in Christian Ethics, the Oxford Journal of Law and Religion, and the Journal of Church and State
