Civic Art and Architecture in Virginia

What we’ve lost, how it might be recovered, and the path ahead for historic preservation and new civic art in the Commonwealth.

Event Overview

Join us for an invitation-only symposium and luncheon to discuss Virginia’s civic art heritage: what we’ve lost, how it might be recovered, and the path ahead for historic preservation and new civic art in the Commonwealth.

The symposium will feature remarks by Catesby Leigh (art and architecture critic and co-founder of the National Civic Art Society) and Patrick McSweeney (attorney at McSweeney, Cynkar, and Kaucheroff), a luncheon with keynote address by John Reid (host of Richmond’s Morning News with John Reid at Newsradio WRVA), and a roundtable discussion moderated by Gibson Worsham (architect at Glavé & Holmes Architecture) with remarks by Jock Yellott (founder of The Monument Fund Inc.). The event will conclude with a reception.

We kindly ask that you RSVP to Sarah Wilson at sarah@commonsensesociety.org by May 23.
